SOUTH EAST WALES REGIONAL FINAL - SPRING 2009
SATURDAY 18th & SATURDAY 25th JULY 2009
CORONATION CLUB, COGAN
Registration opens at 12:00pm and closes at 12:50pm.
Tournament starts at 1:00pm
£3 Reistration fee applies
This season, we are not tied to the Grosvenor Casino for our regional event. The Cogan Coronation Club has been granted a Gaming Permit, allowing us to legally hold cash and prize tournaments in the club. This is to our benefit for a number of reasons.
- The beer is cheaper.
- It's very close to a train station making travelling more convenient.
- We can hold side games for what we want, when we want, without further charge.
- We are not tied to some of the restrictive rules that the Grosvenor have to enforce.
- It's more of a pub environment rather than the sterile casino environment.
There are 16 National Final seats up for grabs, as well as other prizes, yet to be confirmed.
14 National Final seats are guaranteed for the top 14 finishers. 1 National Final seat is guaranteed for the highest finishing Champion and 1 National Final seat is guaranteed for the highest finishing High Roller. Should a Champion and/or High Roller finish in the top 14, the seat will be allocated to the 15th/16th place finishers. A list of all Champions and High Rollers is at the bottom of this page.
Day 1 will play down to the final 12 players.
Day 2 will play down to the final 12 players.
Day 2 (evening) will be the battle for the prizes over the last three tables.
The full allocation of players to days will be posted on here within a few days. Players from outside Cardiff (Powys/Newport/RCT) will play on Day 2.
If any player wishes to switch their allocated day, a request via e-mail ([email protected]) or text (07729 360654) including your name and Nuts membership number MUST be made to myself, Steven Fowkes, no later than Wednesday, 14th July.
Where is the Coronation Club?
By rail - highly recommended.
By car - there are no parking facilities at the Coronation Club so please consider coming by train.
- From the M4 Junction 33, take the A4232 for Cardiff.
- At the A4055/A4160/Penarth/Barry exit, take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto the A4055. You will see Morrisons, Toys R Us and the new swimming pool on your left. Go straight on through the lights at Morrisons and get into the left hand lane.
- At the lights controlled crossroads, turn left towards Penarth.
- Straight on at the roundabout passing Cogan railway station and Penarth leisure centre on your right.
- At the pedestrian lights with the Station Hotel on the right hand corner, turn right into Pill Street.
- The Coronation Club is about 100 yards on the left.
Parking.
- Parking is extremely limited as it's a residential area so if you do travel by car, please park in the following places.
- Cogan train station; Pill street - past the club and as the road bends around to the right (about 200 yards away).
